SRIKANDI PKR, the women's youth wing of the party, has firmly rejected any form of corruption or vote-buying, especially in the context of the PKR 2025 party elections, stating that such acts are fundamentally opposed to the principles upheld by the party.
Its Secretary, Hanani Dhamirah, stated that such practices are in direct conflict with the party’s long-standing commitment to combating corruption and abuse of power.
“Srikandi PKR strongly rejects corruption and vote-buying in any form or circumstance, as it does not reflect the values and principles of the party’s struggle,” she said in a statement on Thursday.
“This party has always been consistent in fighting the cancer of corruption, as championed by the President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.”
Hanani added that the matter has already been brought to the attention of the Party Election Committee (JPP) Chair and the Disciplinary Board Chair for further investigation.
At the same time, Srikandi has called on the leadership of Wanita PKR to review the matter and consider disciplinary action should investigations confirm misconduct.
“Srikandi PKR acknowledges that the power to appoint or dismiss committee members at the state level lies under the jurisdiction of Wanita PKR,” she explained.
She stressed that any act which could tarnish the party’s image is completely unacceptable and must be addressed to preserve the integrity of the organisation.
“We will never compromise on any form of misconduct to ensure the good name of Srikandi and PKR remains protected,” she asserted.
This comes after a video went viral allegedly showing a Srikandi PKR member from the Federal Territory offering money to voters, believed to be an attempt to garner support during the party’s internal elections.
The video, which appears to have been secretly recorded, shows the individual giving cash and urging people to vote for a particular team, including herself, in the PKR election scheduled for 19 April.
The woman is also heard saying that RM100 would be given as "duit raya" before voting, with another RM100 offered during the voting process. - April 17, 2025
