A WOMAN faced a terrifying moment when she was molested by an unknown man while walking home from her workplace in Setia Alam, last Tuesday.

Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah, said police received a report of the incident from the victim in her early 20s at 9.06 pm.

According to him, the incident occurred at about 7.10pm when the victim was walking alone through a quiet lane in the residential area.

"The victim was suddenly attacked from behind by an unknown man.

"The suspect, who was wearing a red shirt and black pants, hugged and covered the victim's mouth," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Sarudin said the suspect also kissed and groped the victim before fleeing the scene.

He said the victim did not suffer any loss, but the police are now actively tracking down the suspect to ensure the safety of the public.

"The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code. Members of the public with information regarding the incident are asked to contact Investigating Officer, Inspector Muhammad Zamri Abdul Rahman at 011-16652402 or any nearby police station," he said.
