BARISAN Nasional (BN) candidate Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir has won praise for his calm and mature political conduct throughout the Ayer Kuning state seat by-election campaign, fostering a sense of unity and respect despite political rivalry.

During his campaign trail, Dr Mohamad Yusri was seen not only exchanging greetings and updates with his own team but also engaging warmly with opposing candidates and their supporters, including sharing campaign leaflets.

In a recent stop at Tapah Public Market, he approached Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) candidate Bawani KS and her team, greeting them and exchanging campaign materials in a display of political civility.

The encounter created a harmonious atmosphere as both candidates handed out their respective pamphlets to market visitors.

A former teacher and senior lecturer, Dr Mohamad Yusri also took a moment to ask Bawani about her campaign progress. She responded that everything was going smoothly.

One market-goer, Ismail Ahmad, 52, applauded the professional and mature demeanour of both candidates.

“Both of them greeted me, and I noticed their supporters also shook hands with one another when they crossed paths. As a voter, I appreciate this kind of harmony,” he said.

Earlier, during another campaign visit to Tapah Road Public Market, Dr Mohamad Yusri was seen engaging with Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Abd Muhaimin Malek. The two exchanged handshakes, shared a warm embrace, and chatted briefly before continuing with their respective campaigns. - April 19, 2025
