POS Malaysia Berhad group chief executive officer Charles Brewer, has apologised for his response to a postman who asked on social media if he would be getting a replacement for his torn uniform.
This came after Brewer was publicly condemned over his response to a staff member who enquired about replacing a torn uniform.
The mailman reportedly took to an internal employee engagement platform to ask when he would be getting his new uniform, as his current one had been badly worn out with even customers pointing it out.
"We acknowledge the recent social media posts referencing an internal matter on March 19 involving a damaged uniform.
"Immediate actions were taken to engage directly with the employee concerned and the matter has been fully resolved.
"Brewer… has conveyed his apologies to the staff involved and extends his apologies to anyone who may have been affected or offended by his comment.
"He acknowledges that he should have responded with greater empathy and commits to continuing to foster a respectful and supportive environment for all Pos Wiras," read the post.
Screenshots from the company’s internal communications platform had leaked and recently gone viral on social media.
It added that the issue has been resolved amicably and that Brewer hoped to ensure that all staff members can serve comfortably.
Following this incident, netizens also began questioning why Pos Malaysia, Malaysia’s national courier since the early 1800s, has a foreigner as its CEO. – April 20, 2025
