A light-hearted post by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has unexpectedly gone viral, drawing curiosity and admiration in equal measure.
In a short video shared on his official Facebook page, Anwar revealed a torn sleeve on his shirt after a long day of official duties. But it was his cryptic caption that truly caught attention.
“Baju koyak takpa, jangan…,” he wrote, leaving the sentence hanging — and the public guessing.
The clip has since racked up over 1.1 million views and more than 11,000 likes, with netizens flooding the comments section with theories.
Some suggested the shirt may have snagged on a door, while others focused less on the damage and more on what it symbolised.
The video is believed to have been recorded aboard a flight from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur, after Anwar wrapped up a packed one-day working visit to Sabah.
Earlier, he had worn the same shirt to a state dinner with Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, at Istana Seri Kinabalu.
Beyond the speculation, many commenters expressed admiration for the prime minister’s modest lifestyle.
Several noted that Anwar is rarely seen in luxury brands, a habit they say reflects humility rather than status.
“This is the same shirt he keeps wearing. Even as Prime Minister, no Louis Vuitton, no Versace. May he be blessed,” one user wrote.
Others suggested the tear was simply the result of frequent use — a small but telling detail that, to supporters, reinforces a long-held image of Anwar as a grounded leader.
Earlier that day, Anwar’s schedule included officiating the groundbreaking ceremony for the Sabah Southern MADANI Link in Sipitang, attending a women’s programme at the Sabah International Convention Centre, and launching the National Unity Week 2026 celebrations in Likas. – June 14, 2026
