THE proposal that the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) dividend for the financial year 2025 be channelled entirely to Account 3 (Flexible) cannot be implemented.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn, said this is because, in terms of the act, it needs to be credited to the proper account.

"We cannot take dividends from other accounts and channel them into Account 3," he explained during a media briefing on the dividend announcement today.

He said dividend payments are calculated based on the balance in each account, and if a member has withdrawn funds from the account, leaving no balance, that account would not receive any dividend.

"If you have savings in all three accounts, the dividend or returns will be based on the balance in each account," he said.

Earlier, Arau Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim called for all EPF dividends to be channelled into the flexible account (Account 3).

He said the move would help the people in preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations. – February 28, 2026
