A MOTHER who used her disabled child’s bank account to receive money from a house rental scam was fined RM6,000 by the Sessions Court today.

Noor Fazira Sinen, 31, broke down in tears while asking the court for leniency, telling Judge Hafizah Abdul Rajak that she was pregnant with her sixth child and had to care for her elderly mother.

The housewife, who is married to a police officer, pleaded guilty to the charge.

Hafizah fined her RM6,000, with three months’ imprisonment if she failed to pay.

The court was told that Noor Fazira had used her child’s bank account to receive RM1,500 from Anis Amera Zaini, who had responded to a Facebook advertisement for a house that was not actually available for rent.

The money was transferred into the account on April 30.

Anis later realised she had been deceived when the keys to the property were not handed over as promised, prompting her to lodge a police report in Bandar Tenggara.

The offence was alleged to have occurred at Jalan Anggerik 2/12, Taman Anggerik Tenggara, Bandar Tenggara, Kota Tinggi, between April 30 and May 22.

Noor Fazira was charged under Section 424A of the Penal Code, which carries a fine of between RM5,000 and RM50,000, or a jail term of up to five years, or both, upon conviction.

The prosecution was handled by Inspector Muhammad Husni Abu Hassan.

Noor Fazira was unrepresented in court. - August 18, 2026.
