RE-ELECTIONS will be held at the Selayang, Jempol and Silam PKR divisions, said the party's Election Committee (JPP) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.
She said the re-elections would not have any impact on the party's national congress which will go on for three days in Johor Bahru, starting on May 23.
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) said the JPP would issue a notice to all branches on the matter.
The recently concluded division-level polls involve the election for the main division leaders, as well as the division’s Youth and Women’s wings, for the term 2025-2028.
Zaliha said the JPP received several complaints and they would be assessed by the Complaints Committee, chaired by Datuk Ahmad Kassim, while appeals will be reviewed by the Appeals Committee, led by Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar.
“There is no final decision yet. The decision of the JPP has not been finalised for us to list the winners of those who contested,” she said.
Among the big names who lost in the election were PKR Vice-President Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Youth Chief Adam Adli and Strategy Director Akmal Nasrullah Nasir.
Zaliha added that various stages of the election process were also discussed by the PKR Central Leadership Council that met in Putrajaya yesterday, chaired by party president, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. – April 24, 2025
