CHIEF Secretary to the Government of Malaysia, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, led the list of 130 individuals honoured by the state of Terengganu in conjunction with the 63rd official birthday of Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.
At a ceremony held at Istana Syarqiyyah, Shamsul Azri was conferred the prestigious Darjah Kebesaran Seri Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (S.S.M.Z), which carries the title Datuk Seri.
Bernama reported that other dignitaries receiving the same honour were Chief of Army General Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan and Tan Sri Yap Suan Chee, Executive Chairman of Melati Ehsan Holdings Berhad.
The Darjah Kebesaran Datuk Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (D.S.M.Z), which carries the title Datuk, was awarded to several distinguished individuals including Malaysia’s Ambassador to China Datuk Norman Muhammad, hotel and sports tourism consultant Abdul Rahman Zabidin, Yayasan Tuanku Nur Zahirah board of trustees member Toh Puan Seri Nur Rahmah Mohd Zin, patron of the Malaysian Disaster Welfare and Charity Association Datuk Wira Shaikh Abdul Halim Shaikh Salah Marie Alkathiri, and Medan Mutiara Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman Datuk Mazli Mohan Alias.
Sultan Mizan also presented the Darjah Kebesaran Datuk Paduka Mahkota Terengganu (D.P.M.T), which also carries the title Datuk, to 23 recipients. Among them were state executive councillors Dr Azman Ibrahim (Agriculture, Agro-Industry, Food Security and Commodities), Ariffin Deraman (Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs), and Hanafiah Mat (Infrastructure, Utilities and Rural Development); Terengganu Syarie Chief Judge Rosdi Harun; former state education director Jelani Sulong; Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd CEO Burhanuddin Hilmi Mohamed @ Harun, and CEO of the Terengganu Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council, Associate Professor Dr Ahmad Azrin Adnan.
In addition, the Darjah Kebesaran Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu Yang Amat Terpilih was awarded to 23 recipients, while 13 individuals received the Setia Mahkota Terengganu Yang Amat Dihormati. A further 21 were honoured with the Ahli Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu Yang Amat Terpilih, and 42 received the Ahli Mahkota Terengganu Yang Amat Dihormati. - April 27, 2025
