SUPPORTERS of Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli should be given space to process his recent loss in the contest for Deputy President of the People's Justice Party (PKR), said party Vice President Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

Speaking after officiating the closing ceremony of the Menteri Besar’s Cup Sepak Takraw Championship in Negeri Sembilan on Sunday, Aminuddin acknowledged the disappointment felt by some quarters but expressed confidence in their continued loyalty to the party.

“I am one of his strong supporters and I believe that his supporters simply need a little time to regroup and will eventually return to supporting the party,” he said.

“They are not leaving the party. They just need space to reassess the situation and future strategies, especially at the grassroots and branch levels.”

Aminuddin emphasised that differing views are to be expected in any political party, especially one that practises democratic principles like PKR.

“Although the election concluded two days ago, Rafizi’s loss remains a hot topic on social media. We must address it with maturity and openness.

“All shortcomings must be rectified by taking into account the various views expressed, to ensure that PKR continues to truly carry the aspirations of the people,” he said.

On a personal note, Aminuddin said he had not expected to retain his position as Vice President and expressed gratitude to those who supported him.

He described the role as a major responsibility, particularly in the lead-up to the next general election. - May 26, 2025
