THE bodies of an elderly couple were discovered in a state of decomposition inside their home at Kampung Sungai Ruan in Raub earlier today, with authorities believing they may have died more than a week ago.

Raub District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Shahril Abdul Rahman, confirmed that police received a report regarding the discovery at 12.20 p.m. The front door of the house was locked, prompting officers to seek assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department (JPBM) to gain entry through the rear.

“Upon entering the house, police found the body of the male victim lying in the kitchen. Further inspection led to the discovery of the female victim in a bedroom,” he said in a statement.

The deceased have been identified as Woh Tong Seng, 75, and his wife Loh Kam Ngo, 73.

“According to their son, Loh had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for the past 20 years, while Woh had a history of heart disease,” Mohd Shahril added.

The bodies have been sent to Raub Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The case has been classified as a sudden death. - June 15, 2025
