JOHOR BARU – A traffic policeman has been arrested for driving against traffic flow along Jalan Lingkaran Dalam here at 12.30am today.

He is also suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said police received a video on the incident and a team from the Johor Baru Selatan Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division arrested the 24-old-year-man at a petrol station nearby and found out that he was a policeman.

“Investigations found he was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, was off-duty then and using his own car,” he said in a statement.

He assured that the case would be probed transparently and that the man would be hauled to court.

“Johor police will not compromise and will take stern action against any police personnel who breaks the law,” he added. – Bernama, December 23, 2020
