THE suspect in the murder of a student at a university in Cyberjaya was detected making cash withdrawals using the victim's ATM card after the woman was murdered.

Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman said his party had detected around five to six transactions made around the capital.

"Based on our investigation, the male suspect involved began making withdrawal transactions using the victim's banking card shortly after the victim was murdered.

"Currently, we are conducting a detailed investigation to enable the police to identify the suspect's identity and trace his whereabouts," he told BH today.

Norhizam said the victim's banking card was among the valuables reported missing in the murder.

"Apart from the ATM card, other items reported missing were a laptop, mobile phone and cash.

"Further investigations are underway, give us time to investigate further," he said.

He said that his party is currently gathering information including recording witness statements.

The victim, who was also a student studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy at a university in Cyberjaya, was found dead at around 10am on Tuesday in his room in Mutiara Ville, with head injuries from being hit with a blunt object.

Currently, investigations are being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

No signs of rape

Police also confirmed that there were no signs of rape following a post-mortem on the victim's body at Hospital Serdang.

Norhizam said the woman's death was caused by a blunt force trauma to the head.

"The victim was found unconscious at his residence in Mutiara Ville, Cyberjaya and was confirmed dead at the scene.

"Initial investigation at the scene found that there were no signs of a break-in at the residence and further examination found that there were injuries to the victim's head.
