The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code - July 8, 2025

POLICE are looking for a temple priest who allegedly molested a woman at a temple in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Sepang, Selangor last Friday.

Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman said police received a report from the 27-year-old victim regarding the incident at about 8.15pm on July 4.

“Investigations found that the male suspect, a foreigner, was a temporary priest to replace the previous one who was abroad.

“The suspect’s modus operandi was to give the victim prayer water by sprinkling it on the victim’s face and body before molesting the woman,” he said in a statement today.

The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code which provides for imprisonment of up to 10 years or a fine or whipping or any two of these punishments.

Meanwhile, he advised the public not to stir up racial or religious sentiments regarding the incident which could disrupt public harmony and order.
