NETIZENS have expressed concern over the possibility of the nation being hit by a shortage of doctors following a viral post about Singapore offering up to RM385,000 per year for Malaysians doctors to practise there.

According to the post, Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) will be conducting direct interviews with local doctors and general practitioners (GPs) at a hotel in KLCC.

Apart from the attractive starting salary, there is also accommodation allowance. insurance and other benefits.

Some described it as a good opportunity to save money before eventually returning to Malaysia.

The post has got netizens worried about more doctors leaving and whether the government was doing enough to keep them here.

"It is not only our doctors, but even nurses can also earn up to RM10,000 a month in Singapore," said a netizen, drawing more concern. - July 9, 2025
