SIBU – A woman was found burnt to death in a fire that destroyed a two-storey wooden house at Jalan Maling here this afternoon.

Sibu Zone 4 Fire and Rescue chief Janggan Muling said the charred remains of Kong King Ling, 30, was found by a team of firefighters at 1pm outside the toilet located on the left side of the house.

According to him, the house owner was not at the scene when the incident happened and the victim’s body has been handed to the police for further action.

He said the station received a call about the fire at 12.06pm and a team of 19 fire and rescue personnel were sent to put out the fire, but they only arrived at the location 14 minutes later due to heavy traffic. 

“The house has been completely destroyed by the fire, which was finally brought under control at 12.45pm,” he said. – Bernama, December 24, 2020
