SEAT allocation negotiations between Barisan Nasional (BN), Pakatan Harapan (PH), and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in preparation for the upcoming Sabah state election (PRN) are in their final phase, BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed on Sunday.

He stated that discussions between the federal and state-level coalition partners are close to being finalised and are expected to conclude either before or upon the dissolution of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (DUN).

“The BN–PH negotiations are almost complete, and I’ve been informed that discussions with GRS are also nearing conclusion. When it’s finalised, we’ll make an announcement—just wait for the DUN to be dissolved,” Zahid told reporters.

He was speaking after officiating the groundbreaking ceremony of the PKPS 'EHSAN Dairy Farm' dairy cattle complex in Ladang Sungai Tengi.

In June, media reports indicated that cooperation talks between BN and PH had already entered the final stages, with seat arrangements involving all component parties of the federal unity government and their strategic partners in Sabah.

UMNO Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki previously confirmed that these discussions were progressing positively with all relevant stakeholders. - August 10, 2025
