IN a continued effort to ease the financial burden of low-income households, the MADANI Government will commence disbursement of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) Phase 3payments on 12 August 2025.

The Ministry of Finance (MOF), in a statement today, said a total of RM2 billion has been allocated for this phase, with up to RM650 to be paid out to eligible recipients.

The latest phase will reach 8.6 million individuals — an increase of 300,000 compared to the 8.3 million beneficiaries in Phase 1 earlier this year. This expansion is attributed to the government’s decision to allow open applications and appeals throughout the year, ensuring that no eligible citizen is left behind.

“Opening applications and appeals year-round shows that the MADANI Government does not take its mandate lightly, and is committed to uplifting the welfare of the majority to ensure no one is excluded from the nation's prosperity,” said Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“STR is more than just a cash handout. It is an injection of hope, empowering recipients to move toward financial independence — a critical step toward achieving equity under the MADANI Economy,” he added.

Payments under STR Phase 3 will be credited directly into bank accounts for registered recipients. For those without bank accounts, including residents in Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan, payments will be made in cash through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches in stages according to individual eligibility.

Applicants not yet listed in the STR database are required to submit a new application to enable verification and confirmation of eligibility. Information on frequently asked questions (FAQs) and eligibility checks can be accessed through the official STR portal at [https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my](https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my). The public is urged to remain cautious of unofficial links circulated by irresponsible parties.

According to data provided by the ministry, the RM2 billion allocation for 2025 includes RM1 billion for households earning RM2,500 and below, RM200 million for those earning between RM2,501 and RM5,000, RM200 million for elderly individuals without partners, and RM600 million for single individuals — a significant increase from RM200 million in the previous year for the latter category.

Eligible recipients will receive payments ranging from RM150 to RM650 depending on their category. Households earning RM2,500 and below will receive between RM150 and RM650, while those earning up to RM5,000 will receive between RM150 and RM300. Elderly individuals without partners and single individuals will each receive RM150.

The Ministry of Finance released the official statement on 11 August 2025. - August 11, 2025
