PANDAN Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, stressed that he would not let threats and attacks on his family discourage him or disrupt his duties as a people's representative.
Rafizi said that some had since advised him to take a break after the attack on his son, but he stressed that his responsibilities cannot be stopped.
According to him, taking a break or stopping his routine will only serve the purpose of those trying to intimidate him.
"If I don't continue with my usual routine and responsibilities, then their goal will be achieved," he said in a video posted on Facebook.
Previously, Rafizi, who is also the former Economy Minister, believed the attack on his son was linked to his meeting with a group of whistleblowers regarding a financial scandal.
He said that the action was also a warning and an effort to silence him from continuing to expose the matter.
In fact, when asked whether the scandal had any connection to any politician, Rafizi left it to the police to conduct further investigations.
The attack on Wednesday occurred when Rafizi's son and wife had just entered the car to leave a shopping mall in Putrajaya before his son was suddenly pulled away and stabbed with a syringe.
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, said the incident is believed to have occurred at about 2pm in the passenger pick-up and drop-off area at the shopping mall. - Augusr 15, 2025
