POLICE have confirmed receiving a report linked to a viral video that appears to show a married woman allegedly involved in an extramarital affair with a doctor, prompting a wave of public commentary after the footage circulated widely on social media.

The video, which surfaced on Facebook, was said to have been filmed by the woman’s husband during a confrontation in which he accused her of being unfaithful.

The man claimed the woman, his wife of ten years and mother of their two children, was having an affair with a married doctor.

In a statement late Wednesday, Kota Bharu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said the police received a report on the matter from the doctor involved, who works at a private medical facility in the city.

“The case has been classified as 'Referred to Other Agencies (RLA)',” he said without elaborating further.

The incident quickly gained traction online after the husband posted the footage and his account of events on Facebook.

In his post, he expressed disbelief at what he described as betrayal, adding that there had been no major issues in the marriage relating to financial hardship, arguments, or lack of time together.

Instead, he cited the concept of an ‘office wife’—a colloquial term sometimes used to describe overly close relationships at the workplace—as the apparent root of the alleged affair.

While the incident continues to generate intense discussion online, police have urged the public to refrain from speculation as the matter is now under review by the appropriate authorities. - August 28, 2025
