A 35-YEAR-OLD trader from Ampang, Selangor, has alleged that she was secretly filmed while showering by a male worker at a holiday home in Manir, in an incident that reportedly occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.
Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor, confirmed that the woman lodged a report at the Kuala Terengganu District Police Headquarters at 12.09pm on Wednesday.
According to Azli, the incident took place around 12.30am when the woman noticed a hand holding a mobile phone through the bathroom window. She immediately screamed for her husband, who was in the bedroom at the time.
“The couple searched the premises and spotted a man wearing a grey T-shirt fleeing on a motorcycle,” he said when contacted on Thursday.
They then informed the property owner of the incident.
The couple had rented the holiday home from 25 August for four days at a cost of RM5,250 for a leisure trip and a Malay traditional clothing photoshoot.
Azli said the suspect, believed to be an employee of the property, later approached the woman and admitted to recording the video, but claimed to have deleted it.
“The man told the victim he had erased the footage and handed over his phone to her,” he added.
“The victim checked the phone but found no trace of the video.”
Police investigations found that the premises’ CCTV did not cover the area of the alleged incident, and no witnesses have come forward.
Authorities are currently tracing the suspect, believed to be in his 30s, to assist in the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 509 and Section 447 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
A 52-second video showing the victim confronting the suspect over the alleged incident has since circulated on social media. - August 28, 2025
