MORE than 7,000 terminals have been made available to process electronic payments for the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) assistance of RM100, which will be distributed tomorrow.

Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, confirmed the increase from the more than 4,000 terminals provided last month.

"The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) has also requested the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and MyKasih to provide terminal facilities for the Jualan Rahmah Bergerak programme to benefit the public," she said after officiating the closing ceremony of the Madani Merdeka 2025 Community Carnival Programme in Kuantan on Saturday.

She added that all Jualan Rahmah programmes in Sabah have been equipped with terminals for SARA, ensuring smooth transactions.

Dr Fuziah advised consumers purchasing essential items through SARA to separate their SARA items from others.

"For example, supermarkets will label items like instant noodles, biscuits, and canned food with the SARA tag. When shopping, it would be best to separate SARA items from other goods to ensure faster processing at the checkout," she explained.

In a related announcement, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed on 23 July that all Malaysians aged 18 and above would be eligible for the RM100 SARA assistance. - August 30, 2025
