"I JUST want answers about my fiancé's death because the circumstances surrounding his death are quite suspicious.
"If it's true that there are criminal elements, I want justice for him," said a woman known as Qistina, 28, regarding the death of her fiancé on July 19.
According to the woman, her fiancé Jeremy Mah Ci Wei, 26, was found dead in a car at Putrajaya Lake Park, Cyberjaya and she suspects there may be some criminal elements.
However, Qistina claimed that she had not received any feedback on the development of the case from the authorities, making her very disturbed.
"The last time I met my late fiancé was on the night of the incident before he left for work at 12.30 am and in the morning I started to get worried because he didn't call me during his break.
"I tried to call him but he didn't reply to messages or pick up the phone. I was worried then checked his location via the app before noticing he was at Putrajaya Lake Park and went straight there," she told Harian Metro in Kuala Lumpur today.
She said she was shocked to see Jeremy lying in the front passenger seat unconscious at about 1.30 pm and the medical team that arrived at the location confirmed he was dead.
She claimed she saw bruises on both elbows and her fiancé's hands, besides also claiming that the man's hands looked like they were holding something.
Qistina claimed Jeremy had a disagreement with several individuals, and on the day of the incident he had that he wanted to meet a friend.
"I have asked about the investigation, including forensics of the deceased's phone and car, laboratory tests and closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings at the location, but until now I have not received any clear information.
"I do not want to accuse anyone, I just hope that the authorities can give me a transparent answer so that I and the deceased's family know what really happened," she said.
She also hopes that the authorities will conduct a detailed investigation into Jeremy's death.
"If there are criminal elements involved, I hope that the deceased will receive due justice," she said, adding that they were supposed to get married this October and that Jeremy converted to Islam on July 10.
Meanwhile, Sepang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman when contacted said that so far the case has been classified as sudden death.
He also denied that the police had not provided feedback on the progress of the case to the family, and that they were still waiting for the complete autopsy report.
"We have sent (the victim) for the autopsy process and the investigation is underway. So we have to wait for the report from the hospital," he said. - August 31, 2025
