A FORM Three student who suffered severe injuries after falling from the third floor of a school dormitory in Sabak Bernam on 24 August remains unconscious, according to Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar.
The student, Ahmad Irfan Ahmad Hanafi, 15, is currently being treated at Hospital Sungai Buloh, where he was transferred after initial treatment at Hospital Sabak Bernam.
Speaking at a press conference at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters today, Shazeli confirmed that the investigation is progressing swiftly and that the case file is nearly ready to be handed over to state prosecutors.
“We have reviewed all available CCTV footage from around the dormitory and have completed scene investigations,” he said.
“The investigation is being actively pursued. We've recorded numerous witness statements and are now finalising the case file before submitting it to the state prosecution office for further action,” he added.
More than 12 individuals have been interviewed as part of the inquiry into the incident.
When asked whether elements of bullying were involved, Shazeli declined to comment until he receives a full briefing on the matter.
Previously, he had indicated that the investigation was moving in a clearer direction based on the evidence and testimonies gathered.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of 24 August, shocked the local school community and raised public concern about student safety in residential schools. The police have yet to confirm whether the fall was accidental or involved foul play. - Sept 3, 2025
