PARTI Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) supreme leadership council (MPT) has identified the mastermind behind the statutory declarations (SDs) movement allegedly to remove President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Bersatu youth chief, Muhammad Hilman Idham revealed that the actions of several individuals violated the decision of the Annual General Meeting which unanimously supported the leadership of the Pagoh MP.

“The SD issue should not arise again because they have failed. Don’t repeat the stupidity with the claim that there are 120 Bersatu Division Chiefs who signed the SD, when only a few have signed.

“That is because they were deceived by their fabricated stories,” he told Sinar Harian.

It was earlier reported that a source who is also a member of the Bersatu MPT claimed that the issue was only being 'muffled' to ensure that the Bersatu AGM went smoothly and ended peacefully as requested by Muhyiddin.

The source also claimed that a member of the MPT would bring the SDs to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman in a meeting.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Hilman dismissed the allegations by insisting that the issue did not arise during the AGM.

This is because, he said, all delegates expressed support and unanimously supported Muhyiddin as the Prime Ministerial candidate representing Bersatu to be appointed to the PN Presidential Council.

"It can be seen during the AGM, everyone raised their hands to show support for Tan Sri," he said.

Commenting on the recent special MPT meeting, Muhammad Hilman explained that the main focus was to detail the powers of the Permanent Chairman based on the Party Constitution to deal with a few delegates who acted rudely during the AGM.

“We don't need to name those responsible, but I'm sure everyone in the MPT, including the president, knows who they are.

"They are the only ones who think people don't know who they are when everyone knows and I am sure the party will take action against them," he said. – September 10, 2025
