A FORM Two student from a secondary school in Limauan, Kinarut in Sabah has alleged that he was physically assaulted by a senior student after returning late to his dormitory on the night of 7 September.

The 14-year-old boy’s mother, aged 42, lodged a police report at the Papar District Police Headquarters on 9 September, followed by a second report filed today at the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters.

Speaking to reporters outside the station, the family’s legal representative, Nurshalilah Fauzan Mailin, confirmed that the incident is believed to be a case of bullying.

“The alleged assault occurred at around 11pm inside the school compound. The victim claims he was kicked in the abdomen, slapped across the face, and punched in the nose by a Form Four student,” she said.

Nurshalilah further alleged that the boy was also ordered by a Form Three student to iron clothing on the same night.

“My client filed a police report after being informed of the incident by one of the schoolteachers,” she added.

The case has sparked renewed concerns over student safety and bullying in boarding schools, with calls for thorough investigation and appropriate disciplinary action. - September 13, 2025
