A 14-year-old girl was found dead after falling from the 21st floor of a high-rise apartment in Paya Terubong, Penang. Police say early investigations show no criminal element involved.

Forensic Investigation Team from the Penang Police Contingent Headquarters revealed no signs of foul play - September 15, 2025

A 14-YEAR-OLD girl died after falling from the 21st floor of an apartment block in Paya Terubong, Air Itam in Penang on Sunday evening.

She was found unconscious and lying on the ground floor of the building at approximately 8pm.

Northeast District Police Chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the police were alerted to the incident at 8.06pm following a call from a member of the public.

Initial investigations carried out with the Forensic Investigation Team from the Penang Police Contingent Headquarters revealed no signs of foul play.

"The cause of the incident is still under investigation, and the case is currently classified as a sudden death (SDR)," said Abdul Rozak.

The body has been sent to the Forensic Department of Penang Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which is expected to be conducted on Monday.

He also urged the public to refrain from speculation that could interfere with the investigation. - September 15, 2025
