KOTA KINABALU – There was no political talk, said Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, after he was photographed with former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“I was attending the tahlil prayers for Tun Rahah. There is nothing political about it. I personally know the family, and I went to pay my respects to Tun Rahah,” said the Parti Warisan Sabah president in a statement today.

He said the photo was taken at a dinner last night after he attended tahlil prayers for Najib’s mother, Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah, who died on December 18.

Shafie said he could not attend Tun Rahah’s funeral as he was in Sabah for the state assembly sitting from December 18 to 23.

He said Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah was also present at yesterday’s tahlil prayers.

Tun Rahah was buried at the Heroes’ Mausoleum at Masjid Negara on December 19, and the tahlil was held at Ar-Rahah Mosque in Kg Kerinchi yesterday. – The Vibes, December 26, 2020
