KUANTAN – Police arrested 30 individuals, who were allegedly having a wild party, in a raid on a bungalow in Genting Sempah about 217km from here at 4.45am today.

Bentong police chief Zaiham Mohd Kahar said those arrested comprised 17 men and 13 women, aged between 20 and 35 years old. Of the total, one was a foreigner.

He said police also found drugs on the scene, including methamphetamine, ketamine and cannabis, estimated to be worth RM3,750.

“Preliminary urine screening on all the suspects found that 25 of them were positive for meth, while one was positive for ketamine,” he said when contacted today.

All the suspects have been remanded for seven days from today. The investigation will be conducted under Sections 39B, 39A (1), 12 (2), 6 and 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and Section 15 (1)(c) of the Immigration Act.

Zaiham said 29 suspects were also charged under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, with each having to pay a RM1,000 compound. – Bernama, December 26, 2020
