THE death of Andi Abdul Ghani Kadir, 41, the director of the famous animation film – Ejen Ali was not triggered by any misunderstanding with his wife, said police.

Kinabatangan police chief D. Ravi said the deceased had suddenly asked his wife to stop the car at the Kampung Batu Putih bridge before getting out.

"He got out of the car and jumped into the river," he told Berita Harian.

Andi was allegedly suffering from some 'mysteriouillness' and was last seen on the bridge about 11.25am on Tuesday.

His body was found by the river yesterday.

Andi and his 33-year-old wife were believed to be travelling from Tawau to Kota Kinabalu.

Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Hairi Otuh said his department received an emergency call at 5.03pm regarding the incident before sending four personnel to the scene.

A check on social media found that Andi and his wife just got married on September 16. – September 25, 2025
