POLICE uncovered a drug distribution syndicate dealing in liquid narcotics after detaining two men at a condominium in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng on 25 September.
Dang Wangi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendi Sulaiman said the raid by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division at around 10.20 pm led to the seizure of various types of liquid and powdered drugs.
They also discovered seven pieces of red and silver aluminium foil containing 70 suspected Erimin 5 pills weighing 20 grams and 20 translucent plastic packets containing ketamine weighing 19.6 grams.
“The total value of the seizures is estimated at RM251,020, with the drugs sufficient for use by up to 3,631 individuals,” Sulizmie said during a press conference at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters.
Initial urine tests showed both suspects tested positive for ketamine, with one found to have a prior drug-related conviction. The syndicate is believed to have operated from the condominium as a transit and processing point, disguising the narcotics within drinks to evade detection. Transactions were conducted via the WeChat application, targeting the entertainment sector.
“Drugs were ordered by customers prior to delivery. Some were delivered while others were collected in person. Each bottle was sold for RM450,” he added.
The suspects, aged 32 and 30, have been active since early this year and confessed to receiving RM100 for each delivery. Their residence was rented through an online platform, and police are tracing the unit’s owner and agent.
Both suspects have been remanded; the 32-year-old until 30 September and the 30-year-old until 2 October to assist with investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment and a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction.
Police also seized two vehicles valued at RM50,000 and RM140 in cash believed to be linked to the drug distribution, bringing the total value of seizures to RM301,160.
Sulizmie confirmed that police are pursuing remaining members of the syndicate and urged the public to provide any information to the Dang Wangi District Police at 03-2600 2222, the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-2115 9999, or any nearby police station. - September 29, 2025
