A MALAYSIAN legal team has arrived in Amman, Jordan to assist Israeli human rights lawyers regarding the detention of all Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) volunteers who were 'captured' by the Israeli regime.

Lawyer Fahmi Abd Moin said he and four other lawyers from the Centre for Human Rights Research and Advocacy (CENTHRA) arrived in the country at 1pm local time yesterday.

"I am with lawyers Azril Mohd Amin, Dir Kheizwan Kamaruddin, Luqman Mazlan and Ahmad Nazrin Abu Bakar.

"We will be in close contact with the Israeli human rights team representing all the detained GSF participants," he said according to Harian Metro.

According to him, they will issue an official statement to the media today.

It was earlier reported that 12 Malaysian volunteers who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza were detained by Israeli forces after the Zionist regime intercepted the ship.

The Malaysians detained were Zizi Kirana who was on board the Huga; Haikal Abdullah, Muaz Zainal, Zulfadhli Khairudin and Rusydi Ramli from the Sirius ship.

In addition, Heliza Helmi and Hazwani Helmi from the Hio ship, Iylia Balqis, Ahmad Musa Al-Nuwayri and Sul Aidil from the Alma ship.

The latest, are Farah Lee and Danish Nazram from the Grande Blu ship.

According to the tracking system of the Sumud Nusantara Control Center (SNCC), Grande Blu was intercepted at 12.58 midnight Gaza time, while Hio was at 2.34 am at a position of about 60 nautical miles from Gaza.

As of 7.50 am Malaysian time, a total of 17 Malaysians were reported to have lost contact with SNCC after their ships were intercepted.

SNCC has reported that so far, ten ships are in 'under attack' status while another 13 ships have sent 'distress' signals. – October 2, 2025
