POLICE are awaiting further instructions from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) following the violent altercation during an eviction operation in Kampung Sungai Baru on 11 September, which left a senior officer injured.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed today that the investigation papers have been finalised and sent to the AGC for review.

“We have completed the investigation and submitted all the evidence to the Attorney-General’s Chambers,” he said during a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters.

“We are now waiting for a directive on whether charges will be brought under Section 353, Section 186 or Section 324 of the Penal Code,” he added.

The incident, which occurred during a court-ordered eviction and demolition exercise in the area, involved a scuffle between security personnel and several individuals resisting the operation.

Among those injured was Dang Wangi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, who was reportedly struck by a stone thrown during the chaos. He was later taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for treatment.

Eight individuals were arrested following the incident, while more than 60 witnesses — including members of the security forces — have since been interviewed as part of the investigation.

The operation was carried out under a court order and led by a bailiff, supported by multiple enforcement agencies. - October 3, 2025
