Mosque caretaker arrested over alleged sexual harassment of teenage boy in Hulu Selangor

A 44-year-old mosque caretaker has been remanded for a week following allegations of sexual harassment involving a 15-year-old boy in Bukit Sentosa

A MOSQUE caretaker has been arrested following allegations of sexual harassment involving a 15-year-old boy in Bukit Sentosa, according to Hulu Selangor District Police Chief, Superintendent Ibrahim Husin.

The alleged incident was reported by the victim on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3.41pm.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the 44-year-old local man is suspected of committing sexual harassment while the pair were in a car, en route to a mosque in Bukit Sentosa to meet the victim’s friend,” Superintendent Ibrahim said in a statement on Friday.

He added that the suspect is also believed to have sent sexually explicit messages to the victim’s mobile phone.

According to police, the victim became acquainted with the suspect after staying at the mosque since December last year.

The suspect was arrested at his home in Bukit Sentosa at 12.30am on Thursday.

“A background check revealed that the suspect has no prior criminal record,” Superintendent Ibrahim confirmed.

He said the suspect has been remanded for seven days from 16 to 22 October 2025 to assist investigations under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. - October 17, 2025
