THE body of a 73-year-old local man was found in a drain at Taman Desa Country Homes, Rawang, earlier today, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

A spokesperson for the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Control Centre confirmed that a call reporting the discovery was received at 1:25 pm.

A team from the Rawang Fire and Rescue Station was immediately dispatched to the scene.

“The operations commander reported that the body was located in a drain approximately 1.2 metres deep,” the spokesperson said.

“Firefighters successfully retrieved the deceased and handed him over to the police.”

The rescue operation involved nine personnel led by Operations Commander Mohd Khasyaff Hashim, supported by two fire engines.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. - October 21, 2025
