A 78-YEAR-OLD woman was injured after a man posing as a visitor asking for a glass of water robbed her at her home in Taman Temerloh Jaya on Thursday afternoon.
Temerloh District Police Chief, Acting Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bahron, said the incident occurred around 5pm while the elderly woman was caring for her grandchild.
“The suspect entered the house without permission, pretending to ask for drinking water. He then snatched a gold bracelet from the victim’s wrist and took her mobile phone,” he said in a statement on Friday.
“The suspect pushed the victim, causing her to fall. She sustained bruises and minor cuts on her wrist and swelling on her head,” he added.
The victim is believed to have suffered losses estimated at RM1,000.
According to police, she lodged a report at the Temerloh Police Station. The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for robbery causing injury.
“Efforts to track down the suspect are underway. We urge members of the public to remain cautious and avoid engaging with strangers who approach their homes,” Mohd Nasyim said. - October 24, 2025
