A MONUMENT resembling Freemason symbolism that recently caused unease among residents near Bandar Tasik Senangin in Lenggeng has been confirmed to be built on private land, the Seremban City Council (MBS) said today.
Mayor Datuk Masri Baharuddin said MBS officers had inspected the site following a public complaint raised by Lenggeng assemblyman and Deputy Speaker of the Negeri Sembilan Legislative Assembly, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin.
“MBS received complaints from the public and from Datuk Mohd Asna Amin regarding an illegal structure in the Bandar Tasik Senangin area. The unauthorised construction, said to be associated with the Freemason movement, has caused unease among Muslim residents,” Masri said in a statement.
He said investigations by the council’s Legal and Enforcement Department found the structure had been erected on a privately owned lot.
“A notice under the Local Government Act 1976 has been issued, and the site has been sealed off to prevent any further additions to the structure,” he said.
Masri reminded residents in Seremban to comply with all building and planning regulations and to refrain from erecting any structures without prior approval from MBS.
“If there are any complaints, inquiries or suggestions, they can be submitted through the Public Complaints Management System (SISPAA),” he added.
Yesterday, news reports cited that residents in the housing area had expressed discomfort over the presence of a monument believed to be linked to the Freemasons.
Mohd Asna had said that he had already alerted MBS to the issue after receiving several complaints from concerned residents. - October 24, 2025
