UNITED STATES President Donald Trump arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 at 9.48 am today aboard Air Force One, greeted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, alongside Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Trump and Anwar were later seen travelling in the presidential limousine, The Beast, to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), ahead of the 47th ASEAN Summit and the 13th ASEAN-US Summit scheduled to begin at 2 pm. The US President is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Anwar today.
Air Force One, the modified Boeing 747-200B serving as the “flying White House,” touched down at the Bunga Raya Complex at 9.54 am.
The aircraft functions not only as transportation but also as a secure command centre, office, meeting space, medical facility, and luxurious residence suitable for the most powerful office in the world.
The visit, taking place from October 26 to 27, coincides with Malaysia hosting the ASEAN and East Asia Summits under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
This marks Trump’s first visit to Southeast Asia since returning to the presidency and is only the third by a sitting US President to Malaysia, following Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966 and Barack Obama in 2014. - October 26, 2025
