A SECURITY guard employed at a Kota Kemuning apartment complex has been detained by police following a complaint of an alleged act of bestiality involving a cat.

Shah Alam police have confirmed the arrest of a Nepalese man, aged 33, suspected of committing an unnatural act with a cat at an apartment in Kota Kemuning last Friday.

Acting Shah Alam District Police Chief, Superintendent Ramsay Embol, stated that police received a report at 12.30am on Saturday from a resident of the apartment complex.

"Investigation found that the complainant and her husband, who had just arrived at their residence, saw from inside their car a man in a naked state believed to be sodomising a cat," he said in a statement released today.

The Superintendent detailed the subsequent events, noting the husband's intervention and the suspect's reaction.

"The complainant's husband then went up to the fourth floor to admonish the act before the suspect threw the cat downwards and fled. The complainant also recorded the incident using her mobile phone," he added.

Acting on the received information, police moved quickly to secure an arrest. "Acting upon information, at 4.45am police detained a 33-year-old Nepalese national man who is believed to be the suspect in the incident," Superintend Embol confirmed.

The suspect, who works as a security guard at the apartment, has been remanded for five days until 19 November to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Superintendent Embol confirmed a preliminary finding regarding the suspect's mental state and condition at the time of the alleged offence.

"Early investigation found that, as of now, the suspect has no mental problems but was under the influence of alcohol during the incident," he stated.

The case is being investigated under Section 377 of the Penal Code for the offence of unnatural carnal intercourse with an animal, and Section 428 of the Penal Code for mischief by killing or maiming an animal.

The police have requested that any individual possessing further information regarding the incident contact the Criminal Investigating Officer, Inspector Mohamad Zulkifli Mohamad, on the telephone number 0111-6958529. - November 16, 2025
