THE Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has completed a series of community development projects in Kampung Batu 3 and Sekolah Kebangsaan Rinching Hilir, Semenyih, under the 2025 MADANI Adopted Village and Adopted School initiatives.
The handover ceremonies, held on 5 December, marked the completion of the Kampung Batu 3 road rehabilitation works and the beautification of Masjid Kariah Kampung Batu 3, as well as the upgrading of learning facilities at Sekolah Kebangsaan Rinching Hilir.
The mosque event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), local leaders including the Mukim Semenyih penghulu, village head, mosque officials and residents.
The school handover was witnessed by the headteacher, teachers, pupils, education officials and the Parent-Teacher Association.
Announced by the Prime Minister in Budget 2024, the MADANI Adopted Village programme is designed to enhance basic amenities and promote balanced development between rural and urban areas. MITI allocated RM1 million to Kampung Batu 3, with RM600,000 dedicated to repairing village roads. The works, led by KKDW as MITI’s strategic partner, were completed two months ahead of schedule.
Enhancement works at Masjid Kariah Batu 3 included upgrading the prayer hall, repairing damaged facilities and beautifying the surrounding area. MITI also supported an environmental sustainability initiative along Sungai Semenyih, which runs through the village, by planting more than 300 bamboo saplings and 2,000 vetiver grass shoots.
Community-building activities formed part of the engagement. In September, MITI organised a Malaysia Day celebration in the village, featuring a community parade with residents and ministry staff. Earlier in May, a joint gotong-royong was held to strengthen ties between ministry personnel and villagers.
These efforts were coordinated through a whole-of-government approach involving KKDW, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, the Selangor Water Management Authority, private companies, civil society organisations and local residents.
MITI Secretary-General Dato’ Hairil Yahri Yaacob said, “This programme reflects the MADANI Government’s determination to strengthen balanced national development through collaboration and synergy across ministries and agencies, in line with the Prime Minister’s aspiration to embed the values of Ihsan and Wellbeing – core principles of Malaysia MADANI – in every government initiative.”
Under MITI’s MADANI Adopted School programme, RM100,000 was allocated for the upgrading of facilities at Sekolah Kebangsaan Rinching Hilir. Of that amount, RM30,000 was invested in enhancing 5G high-speed Internet access across the school to foster greater interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and to support digital learning.
The ministry also financed the replacement of dilapidated canteen chairs, construction of a disabled-friendly cemented courtyard, creation of school-themed murals, and installation of smart boards and CCTVs in all classrooms to promote a conducive and safe learning environment.
MITI said both projects have achieved their objective of raising infrastructure standards while delivering social, economic and environmental benefits for the long-term wellbeing of Kampung Batu 3 residents, the school community and surrounding neighbourhoods. - December 6, 2025
