The veteran politician had recently retained his Lamag state assembly seat in the 17th Sabah state election, winning by a majority of 153 votes in a six-cornered contest. He first entered national politics in 1999, securing the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat, and served the constituency for six consecutive terms, leaving a long legacy of public service in Sabah. - December 6, 2025
