PRIME MINISTER Anwar Ibrahim says major new urban projects in Putrajaya and Bukit Jalil are progressing as planned, with both developments fully incorporating the government’s MADANI principles, including integrated community facilities and the introduction of vertical school concepts.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said he had been briefed on the latest status of several flagship development initiatives across Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
The Putrajaya scheme, known as Kota MADANI and located in Precinct 19, is expected to feature 10,000 high-density residential quarters designed to accommodate more than 30,000 residents, alongside a secondary school and a range of public amenities.
The Bukit Jalil project, Bandar MADANI, is set to offer smart homes, vertical schools, smart mobility solutions and renewable-energy technologies for residents in the capital.
Anwar said the government was also paying close attention to redevelopment efforts in key strategic locations.
“I also reviewed issues relating to the construction of the MADANI Mosque and instructed that the building process be accelerated so that the public can benefit from it without delay,” he said.
The MADANI Mosque on Jalan Masjid India, designed with a distinctly Malaysian identity, will be able to accommodate around 2,900 worshippers at any one time, including 592 in the main prayer hall.
The Prime Minister said the government remained focused on ensuring that all urban development delivers direct benefits to the public, ranging from upgraded infrastructure and modern facilities to the preservation of urban identity and heritage.
“God willing, this integrated effort forms part of our endeavour to build cities that are sustainable, inclusive and progressive,” Anwar said. - December 10, 2025
