A HIGHWAY confrontation between the drivers of a Ferrari and a Perodua Aruz that went viral on social media has been settled amicably, but police investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
Nilai District Police Chief Superintendent Johari Yahya said the two drivers, aged 40 and 35 respectively, had met privately and reached an agreement to resolve their dispute without further escalation.
“Based on the latest developments, both the 40-year-old Ferrari driver and the 35-year-old Perodua Aruz driver involved have held a private meeting and discussion.
“It was done at their own request without the involvement or intervention of the police,” he said in a statement today.
The confrontation occurred at about 11am yesterday at Kilometre 276 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) southbound, with footage of the incident subsequently circulating widely on social media.
Johari said both parties had agreed to settle the dispute amicably and not pursue the matter further.
“Both parties also agreed, of their own accord, to make a joint media statement to explain the resolution reached following the footage of the incident going viral on social media,” he said.
However, Johari stressed that the private settlement would not affect the police investigation into the incident.
“Although both parties have reached an amicable agreement, it does not affect the police investigation process.
“The investigation will continue and be completed based on the statements and evidence obtained for further action.
“Both individuals have been released on police bail and each was released under the guarantee of a surety,” he said.
Earlier, media reports quoted the Ferrari driver, whose confrontation with the Perodua Aruz driver went viral, as saying he hoped his alleged attacker would change his ways and think about his family before taking action that could ultimately have serious consequences for himself. - August 10, 2026
