NINETEEN officers of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) have faced disciplinary action following findings of multiple breaches relating to integrity and adherence to work procedures.

AKPS KLIA confirmed in a statement on Monday that the decision came after a Disciplinary Board hearing held on Friday.

“Nineteen officers were found guilty of various offences, including absenteeism and violations of work procedures involving the use of security stamps for entry and exit of the country,” the statement said.

The sanctioned officers were subjected to penalties ranging from official warnings and deferred salary increments to salary reductions, in accordance with Malaysia’s public service regulations.

In addition to these actions, AKPS KLIA has opened 43 disciplinary investigations concerning officer conduct and integrity, covering a range of infractions including breaches of Standard Operating Procedures, operational rules, and work regulations.

“These include misuse of entry and exit security stamps, counter inspection control lapses, and practices such as ‘flying passport’ and improper ‘counter setting’ that compromise the integrity of national border control,” the statement noted.

AKPS KLIA emphasised that it will take a zero-tolerance approach toward misconduct or integrity violations, particularly in areas critical to national security, such as the monitoring and control of individuals entering and leaving Malaysia.

The disciplinary measures underscore the agency’s ongoing commitment to ensuring rigorous enforcement of border control protocols and preserving the integrity of Malaysia’s immigration and security systems. - December 15, 2025
