THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has taken note of allegations raised by an activist yesterday regarding the alleged inflow of money into the bank account of a senior military officer.
According to sources, at about 11.30am today, MACC officers arrived at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) to begin a preliminary investigation into several projects involving the Army from 2023 to the present.
Sources informed that the focus of the investigation is on projects implemented through the open tender procurement method as well as procurement under the Army Responsibility Centre (PTJ).
"Suspicious financial transactions linked to certain individuals named in the allegations will also be investigated," said the source.
Meanwhile, MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that an investigation paper has been opened under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009 regarding allegations of corruption involving a senior military officer.
He stressed that all investigations are conducted independently and professionally, based on facts and evidence, in accordance with the provisions of the law in force. – December 23, 2025
