PERLIS Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli has hailed the immediate expulsion of three state assemblymen by PAS Central as a decisive and prudent step, underscoring the party’s commitment to principle, discipline, and organisational trust.

“Praise be to Allah, for every matter carries its wisdom. The action taken by PAS Central proves that principle, discipline and the trust of the struggle are always upheld,” Shukri said in a Facebook post shortly after midnight, reflecting strong support for the party leadership’s decision.

The Islamic party announced late yesterday that it had terminated the membership of Chuping representative Saad Seman, Bintong’s Fakhrul Anwar Ismail, and Guar Sanji’s Mohd Ridzuan Hashim, under provisions of the party’s constitution. The move was endorsed at a meeting of the PAS Central Working Committee, chaired by President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

The expulsions follow reports that several PAS and Bersatu assemblymen had submitted statutory declarations to the Raja of Perlis, signalling a loss of confidence and raising concerns over the stability of the state administration.

Shukri’s statement framed the decision as a necessary exercise of party authority, reflecting PAS’s readiness to act firmly in internal matters to maintain unity and uphold organisational integrity.

The development marks a significant moment in Perlis politics, highlighting the delicate balance within the state’s coalition government. - December 25, 2025
