THE UMNO Youth Special Convention should serve as a platform for mature, constructive dialogue that strengthens the contribution of Malaysia’s younger generation, while safeguarding political stability and national harmony, said Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, Political Secretary to the Finance Minister.
Speaking in conjunction with the opening of the convention at Dewan Tun Dr Ismail, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, Muhammad Kamil urged all parties, including UMNO Youth, to manage differences of opinion with care and avoid unnecessary polemics over the party’s position in the Madani Government.
“Every stakeholder has a crucial role in maintaining sensitivity, avoiding needless controversy, and ensuring that all views expressed are constructive and anchored on the broader interest of the people,” he said in a Facebook statement today.
He emphasised that despite differences in background, ethnicity, or perspective, all party members share the common goal of preserving harmony and building a brighter future for Malaysia.
“The reality is that we are all part of one extended family. Differences of opinion are natural, but they must be handled with respect, understanding, and care for one another. While we may come from different backgrounds and races, our shared purpose remains safeguarding harmony and shaping a more prosperous Malaysia,” he said.
Muhammad Kamil also called on participants to exercise prudence, strengthen cooperation, and sustain public confidence in the administration, in line with the Madani Government’s principles of compassion, trust, and collective progress.
“With a shared commitment, God willing, Malaysia’s political stability and advancement will continue to be preserved. It is hoped that the deliberations at this convention will yield positive outcomes and benefits for our beloved nation,” he added.
The convention, organised by UMNO Youth under the leadership of Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, is intended to serve as a forum for discussing, reviewing, and determining the party’s direction, particularly regarding its position in the Unity Government. - January 3, 2025
