HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, King of Malaysia, has urged all civil servants to uphold the highest standards of integrity and trust in the execution of their responsibilities, emphasising that ethical conduct is vital for the welfare of the nation and its people.
In a message shared on his official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim described civil servants as the backbone of the nation’s administration, playing a pivotal role in ensuring that government policies and programmes are implemented effectively.
He added that the importance of cultivating a work culture grounded in honesty, transparency, and efficiency, while firmly rejecting any form of abuse of power, corruption, or misappropriation that could undermine public confidence in government institutions.
His Majesty conveyed this counsel during a formal audience with the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, at Istana Bukit Tunku on Thursday.
During the meeting, Sultan Ibrahim also received a briefing on current issues affecting the civil service, including initiatives to strengthen governance and institutional accountability.
In a separate engagement at the same location, Sultan Ibrahim also received the Director of the Special Branch of the Royal Malaysia Police, Datuk Ibrahim Darus, further demonstrating the monarch’s continued focus on promoting integrity and oversight across both administrative and security sectors.
By urging civil servants to embrace ethical conduct and steadfast accountability, Sultan Ibrahim reinforces the message that responsible governance and principled public service remain essential to maintaining national stability, trust, and effective administration. - January 8, 2025
