A WOMAN lost her life and her husband, a police officer, was critically injured in a road accident involving their motorcycle and a car on Jalan Rasah in Seremban yesterday afternoon.
The Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azahar Abdul Rahim, confirmed that the woman, aged 33, was pronounced dead at Hospital Tuanku Jaafar shortly after arriving for treatment.
“Around 3.30 p.m., a collision occurred involving a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle and a Proton Persona car on Jalan Rasah,” he said. “Preliminary investigations indicate that the 38-year-old car driver, accompanied by his wife, was travelling from Jalan Rasah towards Sikamat at the time of the incident.”
Azahar explained that the car, initially in the right lane, attempted to change into the left lane to turn into a side junction.
This manoeuvre left the motorcycle rider and his passenger approaching from behind unable to avoid the collision, striking the left side of the car.
“The motorcycle passenger, a 33-year-old woman, was confirmed dead at Hospital Tuanku Jaafar upon arrival,” he said. “The rider, a 38-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital for further treatment.”
The police chief revealed that the injured motorcyclist is a serving officer at the Negeri Sembilan Contingent Police Headquarters, while the deceased passenger was his wife.
Following the accident, the woman’s body was transferred to Hospital Rembau for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and further inquiries are ongoing,” he added.
The incident has highlighted concerns over road safety and the vulnerability of motorcyclists in traffic, particularly in areas where vehicles change lanes near junctions. - January 24, 2026
