A WOMAN went on a rampage at a restaurant in Taman Tasek Damai in Ipoh early this morning after she was believed to be dissatisfied with the payment for food.

Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the incident at about 6.30 am saw the suspect act aggressively by taking food belonging to a customer, slapping a man and injuring another individual in the chest.

“The suspect also used a meat cleaver to damage restaurant equipment, including breaking the glass of the food serving counter.

“In addition, the woman is believed to have taken cash from the restaurant drawer and given free food to other customers at the premises,” he said as reported by BuletinTV3.

As a result of the incident, the restaurant owner suffered losses estimated at over RM45,000, involving property damage and loss of cash.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Kampong Tawas Police Station to assist in the investigation.

He said initial investigations found that the suspect is believed to have a history of psychiatric problems and had just received treatment at Taiping Hospital before the incident occurred.
